Carocok Beach is one of the main destinations for tourists who come to West Sumatra. This beach stretches in the Painan region, South Pesisir Regency.


Carocok Beach is a complete tourist destination. This beach provides various kinds of activities that can be carried out by all groups, ranging from children to the elderly, from those who love water activities to lovers of road trips, from lovers of challenging activities to lovers of leisure activities.

In this beach area, visitors are not only treated to the beauty of stunning beaches but also stunning underwater panoramas.

Initially, Carocok is just an ordinary residential area. There is nothing interesting about this area. The Carocok Beach area is only used for the daily activities of its citizens. In fact, this beach is referred to as the "cowshed" by the surrounding community because this place is often used to tether residents' cattle.

It was only in the early 1980s that the coastal area began to be visited a lot after the government along with tourism entrepreneurs made improvements and construction of various facilities.

Since then, this beach has always been visited by tourists, both domestic and international. And as time goes by, Carocok Beach is improved and equipped with various supporting facilities in order to provide comfort and add value to its sale.

Transportation

Stretching between Painan and the City of Padang, administratively the Carocok Beach is located in Painan, Pesisir Selatan Regency and District IV Jurai in Padang City, West Sumatra.

This beach is 2 KM from Painan Market. From the city of Padang, this attraction is about 75 KM or 2 hours by road.

If you don't use your own vehicle, to reach Carocok Beach, you can use public transportation from Painan Market that leads directly to the tourist sites.

When coming from the city of Padang or outside West Sumatra, you can use a plane to Minangkabau International Airport. From the airport, there are several alternative vehicles that can be used. First, you can use the taxi service from the airport directly to the location with fees ranging from Rp. 250,000-300,000.

The second option is to rent a vehicle. Vehicle rental including a driver is usually Rp. 300,000 per day, not including fuel costs of Rp. 130,000.

The third option is for tourists with a limited budget. From the airport, you can take the Damri bus or inter-city bus to Pasar Raya Padang with a fare of Rp. 25,000. Then you can continue the journey by using travel to Carocok Painan Beach, the cost is around Rp. 25,000-30,000.

To enjoy the beautiful panorama of Carocok Beach, visitors are charged an entrance fee of Rp. 5,000 / person.

In the Carocok Beach area, there are various adequate facilities. Gazebo and pavilion established at several points provided as a place to rest. There is also a mosque, toilets and a large parking area.

There are also many shops lined up selling typical souvenirs of Carocok Beach and stalls selling food and drinks.
